David A. Shirley Award for Outstanding Scientific Achievement at the ALS: James Berger (Berkeley Lab) "for his seminal contributions in elucidating the structure and function of topisomerases and in pioneering superbend-based structural biology at the ALS."
Klaus Halbach Award for Innovative Instrumentation at the
ALS: Eric Gullikson (Berkeley Lab) "for the online x-ray interactions with matter calculator
and for the development of a worldwide x-ray optics characterization standard."
Tim Renner User Services Award for Outstanding Support to the ALS User Community:
- David Malone (ALS) "for his outstanding efforts in supporting ALS users in conducting their research in a safe and efficient manner.”
