2009 ALS-Molecular Foundry Joint Users' Meeting

October 15-17, 2009

The annual Advanced Light Source Users' Meeting will be held at Berkeley Lab from Thursday, October 15, through Saturday, October 17, 2009. The meeting will be held jointly with the Molecular Foundry and topics will include the exciting prospects of future collaborations between uses of the facilities as well as new scientific work related to synchrotron research at the ALS and elsewhere. In addition to joint plenary and poster sessions and workshops, there will also be a student poster competition, awards banquet, and exhibits of synchrotron-related equipment.

All users, post-docs, and students are invited to submit abstracts for presentation at this year's meeting; see Abstracts for more information. The poster session will be held in conjunction with the reception for vendors on Thursday in the late afternoon. A hosted reception/buffet awards dinner will be held on Friday, October 16, during the early evening, on the ALS patio.

As in previous years, vendors and suppliers will exhibit the latest in synchrotron-related equipment and, as noted above, a special reception will be held for them on Thursday in the early evening. Twelve workshops, some of which are held jointly with the Foundry, will begin Friday after lunch. Some workshops may continue through Saturday morning; see the Workshops page for up-to-date information.
