Weather
In October, the weather is usually in the high 60s Fahrenheit (low 20s Celsius) during the day and will drop 10 F/6 C degrees in the evenings. Comfortable clothing is suggested, and you should bring a sweater or light jacket. Walking shoes are essential. San Francisco is usually windy and about 5 F /3 C degrees cooler than Berkeley.

Emergency medical situations can be handled at nearby hospitals. However, these services will be charged to the individual and it is recommended that foreign visitors investigate the possibility of obtaining medical insurance prior to arrival in the United States.
